Extreme Wealth and Income Inequality is Bad for Business. It is also the ultimate intersectional issue. It impacts:
1) Affordable housing
2) Gender inequalities
3) Criminal justice inequalities
4) Educational inequalities
5) Social cohesion
There will always be some inequality in the distribution of wealth in a genuinely fair economy, but the extremes we see today are not the result of a free/fair system. The government has intervened for decades by creating and un-taxing monopoly power. This simultaneously creates poverty and an oligarch class that owns a choke hold on everything, including much of our political system. Breaking up monopoly power is not “redistributing wealth”. It is breaking up a suffocating, government-created hold on the American worker and entrepreneur. If you send me to congress I will work for relentlessly for a tax shift that neutralizes special privileges and monopoly power while freeing productive activities from taxation.
