About 2018-05-07T21:11:05+00:00

I have lived in Austin since 1986.

I have four children spanning the millennial generation.  My children and nieces give me hope for the future, while concern for the world they inherit is a major motivation for my candidacy.

My work experience has included large companies (IBM, PayPal, FICO) and several local startups and early-stage companies (Trajecta, eCustomers, ALI Solutions).  My expertise is as a data scientist as well as project management.   I currently work in an advisory capacity for two local early-stage companies.   My areas of expertise include risk management, fraud detection, and marketing analytics.

I have had a broad spectrum of work experience that has given me appreciation for the different perspectives of our society.  My professional experience has also had me travel extensively across the U.S., but also to Europe and East Asia.

Graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.  Also studied at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany for a year of post-grad work under the Fulbright program.  (Quadrille-Mobay Grant).

I grew up in a couple of small towns in AL that you likely never heard of, but lived my teenage years in Pensacola, FL.  My parents were teachers most of my childhood, while they also dabbled in several side gigs.

I have been married twice.  I am not the best at marriage while saluting those how make it work.

Served on the Mueller Commission that was advisory to the Austin city council for building out the award-winning Mueller Redevelopment.  I served on the Schalkenbach Foundation board for nine years (www.schalkenbach.org).  The NY-based foundation sponsors projects related to the alternate economic ideas of Henry George.  Our sponsored projects typically address solutions to our current economic dysfunction.

It doesn’t take much to change a life, working together we can create policies that will lift those in poverty, reduce the grotesque economic inequality and develop common sense environmental policies.
